Ai weiwei: student names list

Before watching the movie today, in my mind, I think Ai weiwei is a very radical person. He has always claimed to be an independent artist.  In fact, I have not been very good impression of him, probably because I am not able to understand the avant-garde art and what he did some things. However, In the movie, it recorded some of his work, and the student's name list let me move and produce some thinking. This thing is about Sichuan earthquake in 2008. There are many students died in this earthquake, so Ai weiwei hopes to list all the dead students name, age and native, and he called more volunteers to join them to do this. He repeatedly stressed that he would like to know how many of the failed projects in the school? In my opinion, I do not like him, but in this matter, he did do the Chinese government should do. I think that including his process of doing this is quite tortuous. He wants to do a free speech and to know the people of the motherland. Even though he knows it's hard now. But this is China, which is indeed the status quo in China, but the Chinese government may have more considerations. Personally, From this matter, I like his ideas and thinking, and I think it is not art, this is just one thing, Ai do, and I think it is very meaningful one thing.

Art review: restlessness

“Restlessness” was created by Diana Bedrossian who is a lovely Russian girl. In her works, you can see a lot of lines around, and then organized irregular with bright colors. She said, she was always very easy to nervous and anxious. So she created the graphics to express herself when she was nervous. She maked use of different colors to represent her tension. For example, when she dedigned the first piece of work, she was very nervous, she used the color of red with orange and the trend of lines were messy.

I am very like this piece very much, This  work is mainly expressed in her struggle with the tension. It means that this is a battle about herself. She used the red ball in the middle to represent her nervousness, and she also used the blue lines to represent the calm. Accroding to her, she tried to control her nervousness. It is quite interesting. In my opinion, she is very good to show her personal feelings and process of her thinking to readers. Personally, perhaps the finished work are not very mature, but her ideals were enough to prove herself!

Finding ways to lose yourself, and other adventures:Yves Klein

Today we have a lecture about'Finding ways to lose yourself , and other adventures' Through this lecture ,I know that you should get lost and do some brave things to find a new yourself. You just need go out and enjoy the wandering, journey or field trip. Do not stay in a stable situation, you can get more methods, techniques, new treasures, personal language and inspiration. When you go back home, you  well have a lot memory to mature and evolue.

How will you go about finding that thing the nature of which is totally unknowed to you?

In this lecture, there is a picture that impressed me. It named 'Le Saut dans le vide(Leap into the void) . I thought immediately of this iconic image of Yves Klein — whose first grand artistic gesture was to sign the sky — leaping into it. In this work , you can see shunk and kender photographed the street with and without the cyclist in the background . Then they snapped Klein diving off a wall onto a stack of cushions and combined the two images . I imagine Klein’s leap whenever I remember looking out from my Paris balcony to the sky over Rue Mouffetard. It was originally published in the artist’s book Dimanche, which apparently shows him jumping off a wall, arms outstretched, towards the pavement. Klein used the photograph as evidence of his ability to undertake unaided lunar travel. I think this work is very good interpretation of the brave move your feet and thinking, you will have unexpected discovery . In my opinion , It is like a serendipity . I mean that you can get some good luck in making unexpected . It's a good response to the subject of this lecture.

Review:Phantom Limb series

This series were designed by the American woman artist Lynn Hershman Lesson in 1986—87 and is titled Phantom Limb series. The designer used technology of gelation silver prints and format of photo collage. In these series ,you can see the woman's body and mechine.
She put the body of a woman and a part of electronic machine assembly, using machines instead of women, and these works are static. The Phantom Limb Photographs is a series of black-and-white photographs, where Hershman combines female bodies with different technical features like cameras or camera lenses. ' Thses works merge human bodies with technological cyborgian attributes , pointing out our reliance on electronics and media, and how it invades our physical and psychological collective selves' (Lynn Hershman) Perhaps the designer wants to present a pathological effect to interpret the phenomenon, which is very subjective.  These works merge human bodies with technological cyborgian attributes, pointing out our reliance on electronics and media . In my opinion, I think this series is very powerful, very good to the audience to express her meaning. Personaly she chose a good theme and summed up the contemporary social issues to remind and warn people . It is very important!

Overall, for me,this series is really cool!Hershman used mechine to replace human'body .In my opinion,it means today's people are over reliance on technology to do a lot of things, their body will begin to degenerate. As a designer or artist,You have an obligation to discover and reflect some of the problems that some people can't see.

You just need go out and enjoy the wandering, journey or field trip. Do not stay in a stable situation, you can get more methods, techniques, new treasures, personal language and inspiration. review:Art School Confidential

When I watched trailer, I was very excited, because I think the film should be very interesting. However, I'm a little disappointed when I really started to watch the movie today.First of all, the first half of the movie is very interesting and very attractive, but the story is not interesting and a bit absurd in my opinion. As an art student, I can understand the artist's personal independence of conduct and have a strong personal color. But the actor's extreme behavior let I can not accept. In order to be able to get the teacher's affirmation, to get the love of the girl's sure, even if he killed a bad guy, but his purpose is not for others, but for himself.Maybe I as a foreigner, I can not accept this kind of movie, because some of the plot I really do not like.

Alex Katz :you have no power unless you have traditional elements in your picture

Alex Katz is an pinter, sculptor and printermaker. He produced swiftly executed pictures of trees as well as various works based on photographs.

I think he has  brightly coloured works of landscape, interiros and figures also produced simplified images. These work emphasized rhe flatness of the picture plane white remaining representationl.
Because my major was graphic design,
I love this style very much, abstract, simple……

He has strong personality, more impersonal style. You can easily find the peace in his work.In my opinion, I think his heart must be very pure.

his work has a lot tradition elements.especially this work'passing',it belongs to a venerable generation and has the scale of abstract expressionism.
Katz looks coolly imperturbable in his businessman's suit and hat ——stylish not only in his painting but in his person.

Studying And Living in Farnham

When I arrived at Heathrow airport, I was frightened and confused. You know? There are so many people, so many different faces, and they all say I am not familiar with the language. To tell you the truth, I'm a little cry. When I get up the courage to successfully reach the Farnham campus, the enthusiastic teachers to reduce my stress and tired. When I was completely settled in my room, I realized that I had come to England and I really want to start a new life.Farnham is a very beautiful small town that can be seen flowers everywhere. It's convenient to buy everthing. The local people enjoy life very well, and almost every weekend there have many activities.Last week, we went to London to visit V&A's exhibition at Albert & Museum Victoria. I was very excited. In the study, language is definitely my biggest problem, I hope I am learning and life in Farnham smoothly.
